Your first try

Start with the rods.

Find a calm, quiet place. Hold one rod in each hand, loosely, so each one can swing. Ask a clear question. Then walk slowly and watch.

In the user manual, rods that cross usually mean yes. Rods that move apart often mean no.

  1. Hold them loosely

    Close your hand lightly around each handle. The rod turns inside it, so do not squeeze.

  2. Keep them level

    Elbows in, rods pointing ahead, with space between them.

  3. Ask, then wait

    Ask one clear question. Give the rods time to move, or stay still.

Pendulum and board

Give the pendulum somewhere to point.

A pendulum on its own just swings one way or another. The wooden board gives that swing a place to point: Yes, No, Maybe or Unknown.

  1. Rest your elbow

    Sit at a table and rest your elbow, so your hand stays still.

  2. Hold it over the centre

    Hold the top of the chain. Let the quartz hang just above the sun in the middle.

  3. Watch the swing

    Ask a clear question and see where it moves. The centre means neutral or undecided.

Dowsing is a personal practice, not a measuring tool. Small hand movements you do not notice can move rods and pendulums. Many people use it for reflection and curiosity. We can't promise any answer, and you should not rely on dowsing for important decisions.

Are the rods real copper?

Yes. Each rod is 99.9% copper. Copper darkens naturally over time. Wipe the rods with a soft, dry cloth and keep them away from harsh chemicals.

How do I hold the rods?

Loosely. Close your hand lightly around each handle, so the rod can turn inside it. Keep the rods level and apart. If a rod does not turn freely, email us at hello@paranormic.com.
